Hey Ares!

We officially held our Fac CIP today, and we want to thank everyone for putting in lots of effort in preparing for your stalls! :) We really hope you guys had fun with your fellow Aresians, classmates or otherwise. We'll be conducting a debrief next friday to afford the event some closure, so do reflect the day and think of some take aways that you may have gotten from the event. Meanwhile, the men might want to start buffing up a hunkalicious bod and the females start glamming up babe-esque features because in three weeks time, we're going to be crowning our new Faculty Hunk and Faculty Babe 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!oneoneoneelevenone!!!!

Want to watch the Hc team play other schools at sports, but never know when the matches are? The CCA calender on the site tell you all you need to know. Want to know who won the HC-AC water polo match? Get the blow-by-blow account of the game rrright here. Season previews are also regularly featured, complete with pictures and colorful descriptions. Best of all, updates flood in faster than your Facebook live feed. You'll never be out of the CCA loop again!

Happy Holidays

Holidays are in season! It's that happy time of the year once again when we get to take a break from school life and rediscover our youth :)

For all Ares Seniors, though the holidays do seem somewhat marred by the prospect of blocks next week, the studying will pay off eventually so let us not lose heart and put in our fullest effort for the tests ahead!

For our Ares juniors, do relish this fleeting moment of freedom as your turn will come in due time :D In the meantime, do spend some time together as a class to plan more in depth for the faculty CIP that will be coming up next week!!

On top of what you'll be selling, you guys also have to decide on your pricing policy, as well as appropriate stall decor. Here is a sneak peak of the location for visualization purposes:

The carnival will be spread along a long stretch:

This stretch. all the way down to the end, which is the entrance to the swimming pool where they will be holding their swimming meet. Stalls will be set up along the left side of this stretch, with backs facing the fence. Each class will be allocated one table and two chairs.


Yup there are actually 2 pools, this is the first, along with another view of the stretch that we'll be setting up our stalls.

On the right is the second pool, along with a view of a stand for spectators to watch the swim meet.

For those wondering, the coupons will be distributed on monday morning (we apologise for the delay, it took a while to get all of them chopped), so do make use of the short span of five days to sell your coupons and get your friends to come down!

Details on how to get to CCAB will be up soon. In any case, here's wishing everyone with holidays only to dream for! :D

Surprise!!!!! It‘s CSM. We are going to own it duh. We are Ares

The Annual Combined Sports Meet is scheduled to be on 20th May this year.
Deadline for registration is this Tuesday (10th March).. We need everyone to do their part.

So perhaps:
1) you’ve never tried track/field events before
2) you don’t really like sports

Fear not!!!!!

So long as you love your class and you love Ares and want to win, pick an event and sign up!!! It’s fun to own together :)

PE reps do register your class. CT reps do help your PE reps. Classes do sign up!!

From the Sports I/Cs

The Aresian spirit never fails!!!

Now that the ashes of the Post-Orientation Party have settled, it is time to reflect on a period where you, the newly minted Hwa Chongians, have experienced different facets of College life. We saw how you battled for the glory of our Faculty and shed blood and tears during war games. We heard you when you cheered your lungs out for your Faculty mates during Campfire. We bore witness to your unfailing dedication to learning the Faculty Dance. And last night, we saw this dedication translated into a tidal wave of red which rocked the Central Plaza. Although we did not clinch the title, it was evident that the spirit of our Faculty and enthusiasm of each and everyone of you present left a deep impression. We sincerely believe that this period of bonding has given you memories to cherish and remember and always remember, once we are united, the Aresian spirit never fails.

In closing, we want to thank the Faculty Committee for having 'indoctrinated' you in the ways of being an Aresian, and especially our suave and groovy Dance ICs Chit and Chong Tee for showing us what dedication and passion to your craft is.

In Greek mythology, Ares, meaning battle and strife, is the Olympian god of war and son of Zeus and Hera.

Colour: Fiery Red
The colour red represents the fiery spirit and tenacity of Ares. Don't you feel your heart racing and adrenaline pumping when you see a sea of red cheering for their faculty? Not to mention we're the hottest faculty. :)

Mascot: Raging Stallion
When speaking of the stallion, courage and strength comes to mind - just like when speaking of our faculty!
